Obituary of William Kenneth "Ken" Derickson

William Kenneth Derickson, 80, lovingly referred to as Ken, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, November 13, 2022. Ken was born on November 9, 1942 in Jacksonville, Florida. He persevered through foster care and was adopted by his loving parents, Robert and Beatrice Derickson, at the age of ten. Ken married his loving wife and soulmate, Diane Potochnic, on August 11, 1978. Ken was preceded in death by his father, Robert Derickson; and his brother, Albert Derickson. He is survived by his loving wife of forty four years, Diane Derickson; his children, Kevin (Ashley) Derickson, Todd (Kate) Derickson, Shawn (Whitney McGinnis) Derickson, Marc Derickson, and Brad (Kayley) Derickson; and his grandchildren, Callista McCarty, Amelia and Anna Derickson, Haley and Bennett Swim, Wyatt and Will Derickson, and Jolene Derickson. Ken was an amazing husband and father, who loved to spend time with his family. He was incredibly proud of his five sons and the lives they created for themselves. Working overseas in several different countries, he found a passion for understanding and appreciating different cultures. Ken was a veteran of the United States Navy, who showed unwavering support and pride for his country.
