I didn't have the privilege of meeting Daniel, but I'm so touched by his story. Trans lives matter, and I have a feeling his life will have a lasting impact on the community. So glad he was surrounded by loving and accepting family and friends. I'm so sorry for your loss.

While I wasn't close with Daniel, the interactions I had with him had a great deal of impact on me. As a younger trans person, Daniel was a prime example that you can be transgender and happy. He embodied the principle that you could express yourself to the fullest while living an even fuller life. Because in a world full of hate and prejudice, he found a way to enjoy life as much as he possibly could. I plan to carry that with me as I continue to transition. He was and will continue to be an enormous inspiration to everyone, regardless of their identity. I only hope that one day I can reach the level of peace that he had. If he touched my soul this much without hardly even knowing me, I can't even begin to imagine how much he touched his close family and friends. I send my love to you all.
