Obituary of Robbie Diane Segler Caballero

Robbie Diane Segler Caballero, mother and natural artist, 70, born on March 30, 1952 to Mary Lake Segler and Russell David Segler, Sr., has passed away on November 29, 2022. Robbie was diagnosed in early 2022 with metastatic triple-negative breast cancer and chose to live the last few months of her life near her daughter, Shellie Allison Caballero in Colorado. Robbie dedicated her life to her love of art, golf, and her family. Robbie graduated from Rockport-Fulton High School in 1970, where she was on the varsity basketball and volleyball teams. She was also talented in playing the flute in the Rockport-Fulton Fighting Pirate Band, was one of the head twirlers on the twirling team, and graced the homecoming court during her senior year. She also loved to play golf with her family and friends during her off time. Robbie then attended Southwest Texas State University and was a twirler for the Southwest Bobkittens. Following her father as he started a new coaching life in Laredo, Texas, she would become a practiced buyer for Hachers in Laredo. Robbie would continue her life as a buyer by moving to San Antonio, Texas to work for Dillards with twenty-four decorators working under her. In the midst of things, Robbie met Mario on the golf course where they would bump into one another regularly. Robbie, having golfed with Mario many times moving forward, would happily date and come to marry Mario Caballero on September 1, 1984 They both owned a successful business, Robimar Interiors, in San Antonio, Texas that eventually became two locations in Laredo, Texas. Robbie remodeled the interiors of two hospitals, Mercy and Doctors Hospital of Laredo, as well as several medical clinics. Eventually, she transitioned into becoming a realtor in Laredo and would move to Rockport, Texas to be closer to her mother, Mary Lake Segler, who was battling cancer, and to her father, Russell David Segler, Sr. Robbie and Mario continued to raise their two children, Maci and Shellie, in Rockport, Texas and would then move to Georgetown, Texas to golf while their children were in college. Robbie and Mario then made their last move to San Antonio, Texas to make a few more memories and enjoy their last moments being together. Robbie was known for her way of making a space beautiful and meaningful. She eventually would inspire others around her to perceive things and situations in a positive light, and tried her best to bring out the fun all while she knew her time had been cut short. She loved a little bit harder, laughed more, encouraged people to dress their best, and enjoyed new friends' stories and memories. Robbie successfully left a mark on hearts in Texas and a few more hearts in Colorado. She will always be cherished and remembered. Robbie is survived by her spouse in heaven, Mario; her oldest son, Maci; her daughter-in-law, Dawn; her daughter, Shellie; her son-in-law, Jeremy; her brother in heaven, Russel David Segler, Jr.; her sister-in-law, Debbie Segler; as well as many others.
