Obituary of Nannie Thelma Ferrell

Ms. Nannie Thelma Ferrell of South Boston, Virginia, departed this life on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at the age of eighty-three in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Ms. Ferrell was born in South Boston, Virginia but spent most of her adult life in Brooklyn, New York, where she was a claims adjuster for Equitable Life. In her time with Equitable Life, she lived in Charlotte, North Carolina, and in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she spent her latter years. A lover of life and music, you could always see "Nan," as friends called her, or "Nana," as her family called her, in her element, whether it was at home, work, or social functions. She navigated life with relative ease, and when the storms came, she never let anyone stop her from achieving her goals with strength and a smile on her face, something she left with all of us. She leaves to mourn her passing three daughters and one son, Ms. Deborah Britton of Virginia, Ms. Dhelma Kelly of Colorado, Denise Mansfield of North Carolina, and Mr. Donovan Ferrell of Colorado; five grandchildren, Don Lawrence Williams, Danita Kelly, Danielle Kelly of Colorado, Garrison Mansfield of Pennsylvania, and Sydney Mansfield of North Carolina; one sister, Juanita Salgado of Brooklyn, New York; two brothers, Harrison Ferrell, Jr. and Roosevelt Ferrell, both from Virginia; and countless nieces and nephews. She leaves to reunite with her parents, Hallie and Harrison Ferrell Sr.; her daughter, Dollye Kelly-McClean; her son, Donald Edward Kelly; two sisters, Regina Crews and Jeanette Ferrell; and her brother, Clevester Ferrell, Sr. Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die. - John 11:25 The family sends their most sincere gratitude to friends in New York, North Carolina, Colorado Springs, and Virginia for their expressions of sympathy and prayer shown during our time of immense sorrow.
