Uncle Ray was not only a great uncle to me but he was also my first Boss! In my junior year at Wasson High school, I worked like several other family members at Ray-Ko supply first as an inventory clerk and then later a delivery driver, I just loved that !! With him, I learned hard work, and working with others ( customers) which taught me how to be respectful of others. Uncle Ray and all of his brothers and my dad always cherished family over anything else. With that, we all learned to help one another and if someone needed help, we just went there and offered our services. Its something that we as a family just do which is rare in this world today. That is what Uncle Ray, my dad, Uncle Ernie, and Uncle Dick all taught me! Christmas is always a poignant time of year for me as although its a time to cherish Jesus, we have lost many Aunts and Uncles around and near this time of year, so when we as a family sing silent night I cannot help but get emotional during that song as I remember all of the great family members I miss!! And so it will be with Uncle Ray!! Gos bless him and his family, I am glad he is no longer in pain and is in heaven with mom, dad, brothers and sisters watching over us all...

Uncle Ray was my Dad's best friend, the one who shared every celebration and the one to help ease every burden. We were so blessed to have him part of our lives. My last memory of Uncle Ray is the one I will happily keep close to my heart forever ~ After Mom's funeral, this time of year five years ago, I sat down to chat with him. He told me that the song she had chosen for her service, "Abide With Me" reminded him of Brooke and "Old Ern's" wedding. He got that twinkle in his eye - you'all know the one - and went on to say that the poor organist had to play that song over, and over, and over, and over, because, for some reason, the best man was late getting to the church. Then he started that low, deep chuckle that couldn't be contained, and we both laughed ‘til we cried. He will be missed. The love he generated and shared with Aunt Chris, Andy, Cindy and Becky, and their spouses and his grandchildren and his nieces and nephews will continue. His legacy is love.
