Obituary of Orvel Ray Lawson

Orvel Ray Lawson of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away peacefully on December 14, 2022 at Namaste care facility with his family by his side. He was born in Keefton, Oklahoma on July 13, 1933. Ray was a veteran and served in the Korean war, where he sustained serious injuries earning him a purple heart. Upon returning, he pursued a career as an automobile mechanic, eventually owning and operating a successful local mechanic shop, "Ray Lawson's Garage" for forty-three years. Ray and his wife, Marilyn, moved to Branson, Missouri after retirement in 1999 where they enjoyed the local show and entertainment until they moved back to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2007. He loved being outdoors, fishing, shooting, and camping with his family and dogs. Ray will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to meet him and spend time with him. He was a truly gentle, kind, and caring soul. Ray is survived by his wife of seventy-one years, Marilyn Lawson; two daughters, Gloria Lawson, and Karen Fatine; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services Pending.
