Obituary of Shirley "Kit" Addison Carson, Jr.

Shirley "Kit" Addison Carson, Jr. passed away peacefully on December 18, 2022. Kit was born on January 8, 1937 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Shirley Addison, Sr. and Lily (Talkington) Carson. He graduated from Unidis High School in West Milford, West Virginia in 1954 and several months later joined the United States Air Force, retiring after twenty-two years of service. Along his military journey, he married Tsuruko Kinjo in 1960, and they were married for fifty-six years until Tsuruko's death in 2016. His last duty station was at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana, which he was not looking forward to, but he grew to love the Big Sky Country. He treasured the open space and outdoor activities, especially fishing. It was home for thirty-seven years. He enjoyed family gatherings, taking the grandkids on boat rides and to fish, cutting down Christmas trees in the national forests close to Great Falls, Montana, then refueling with chili and hot toddies, playing card games with the grandkids, singing karaoke, hiking, playing pool and drinking beer with his son-in-law, and keeping up with technology on his computer and other mobile devices. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Francis Hospital, Melody Living Communities, New Century Hospice, and especially, Ms. Tina for helping to care for Kit the past several months. Kit is survived by his daughters, Pam and Debbera; son-in-law, Jaime; grandchildren, Jamil, and Jolene (Daniel); great-grandson, Theo; and former spouse, Regie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tsuruko; and his parents, Shirley and Lily Carson. Services pending.
