Obituary
Obituary of Robert Harold Hackworth Jr.
Bob Hackworth, "Hack," 59, of Colorado Springs, Colorado died peacefully in his sleep on December 21, 2022.
Bob was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on November 17, 1963 to Mary Belle and Robert H. Hackworth Sr.
In 1972, Bob and his family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma until 1986 when he relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado. On Thanksgiving Day in 1990, Bob and his partner, Nancy, had their first date, and spent the next thirty-two years of their lives together.
Bob worked as a field superintendent for Schommer Construction, a job he loved and was so very proud of, especially the landmarks in our community he helped build, including The Olympic and Paralympic Museum, Weidner Field, Focus on the Family, The Wells Fargo Tower, many buildings on Fort Carson, and so much more. Bob loved his co-workers, his neighbors, and treasured his friends and family. Nobody was a stranger to Bob. One of his favorite things was to sit on the front porch listening to his music and talking to people who passed by. He loved his dogs and had many throughout his lifetime.
Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy; stepsons, Shawn (Leilani) Rabourn of Lake Oswego, Oregon, and Devon (Christina) Rabourn of Colorado Springs, Colorado; five grandchildren; his sister, Vicky Chase; his brother, Mike Hackworth; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his three dogs, Huckleberry, Holliday and Hayden; and his cat, Rocky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, James and Rick Hackworth; his brother-in-law, Walter Chase; and his niece, Brooklyn Chase.
