James is survived by his wife, Shelly Marie Romero; father, James Earl Barnes Sr.; mother, Iris Gudrun Barnes; son, Jay; daughters, Shireese, Sciarra, Aaliyah, Ashley, Shayla, and Celia; brother, Daniel James Barnes; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dezaree Archuleta.
